Bomb Disposal Unit

The Pottawattamie City/County Bomb Disposal Unit has the capability to respond to and "render safe" bomb calls ranging from suspicious packages to large vehicle bombs. We also have the capability to dispose of explosives (i.e. old dynamite).

We have participated in VIP protection details during Presidential elections and dignitary visits. The bomb squad is the only one west of Des Moines, Iowa. We are part of a task force of bomb squads in Iowa and also work with the Omaha Police Department bomb squad.

Our most popular tool is the Remotec F6A robot which has the additional capability to serve in a support role for tactical teams.
